OPFY Troops Target Terrorist Kingpins Najaja, Dogo Gide, and Two Others in Fierce Zamfara Offensive, Neutralise Scores of Fighters

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have launched a major offensive against notorious terrorist kingpins Najaja, Dogo Gide, Nasanda and Buba Oris, disrupting a planned large-scale terrorist movement in Zamfara State and neutralising scores of insurgents during coordinated air and ground operations.

Military sources tols SpyeTV News that the operation followed credible intelligence received on July 25, 2026, indicating that hundreds of terrorists had assembled at the Bayarzaki Riverline in Anka Local Government Area under the leadership of the four notorious terrorist commanders and a large contingent of their fighters.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA executed precision interdiction fires on identified terrorist positions at Barayan Zaki and key crossing routes within the Bayarzaki Riverline. Simultaneously, troops of the 8 Division Strike Force carried out a well-coordinated ambush followed by exploitation operations at first light to intercept the fleeing terrorists.

The coordinated assault disrupted the terrorists' movement, forcing them to abandon their positions and withdraw towards Barayan Zaki while attempting to cross the Gummi–Anka Main Supply Route (MSR).

To deny the terrorists freedom of action and prevent regrouping, troops immediately launched a fighting patrol along the identified withdrawal routes. Contact was subsequently established with the fleeing terrorists at Kombo High Ground along the Anka–Gummi MSR in Bukkuyum Local Government Area.

During the fierce engagement, troops unleashed overwhelming firepower on the terrorists, forcing them to retreat in disarray after suffering significant casualties.

Military sources confirmed that scores of terrorists were neutralised during the encounter, while one soldier sustained injuries and was promptly evacuated to the General Hospital in Anka, where he is receiving medical treatment.

No military equipment was lost during the operation.

In continuation of the offensive, troops returned to the contact area on Sunday, July 26 to conduct an exploitation operation aimed at clearing the battlefield and preventing the terrorists from re-establishing their presence.

During the operation, troops recovered 13 rounds of PKT ammunition and one machine gun round, while maintaining a strong operational presence across the general area.

Military authorities said troops have continued to dominate the operational environment through aggressive patrols and clearance operations to deny the terrorists freedom of action and prevent any attempt at re-infiltration.

The latest offensive forms part of the sustained counter-terrorism campaign by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle terrorist networks operating across the North-West, degrade the capabilities of notorious bandit leaders and restore lasting peace and security to communities affected by armed violence.
