NAF Launches Search-and-Rescue Operation After ATR-42 Crash in Ondo

 

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has activated an immediate search-and-rescue operation following an aircraft accident involving an ATR-42 in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 5, 2026, while the aircraft was reportedly on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos.

According to NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, search-and-rescue efforts are currently underway in coordination with relevant authorities and emergency response agencies.

The Air Force said it was committed to ensuring the success of the ongoing operation, adding that further details would be released as they become available.
