GOC 8 Division Steps Up Zamfara Front-Line Operations, Charges Troops to Maintain Offensive

 

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Bemgba Koughna, has conducted a comprehensive operational tour of forward operating bases across Zamfara State, as part of efforts to strengthen ongoing military operations and enhance troops’ combat readiness. The inspection focused on assessing tactical deployments, defensive positions and the overall preparedness of troops operating in the front lines.


During the tour, Major General Koughna reviewed the operational capabilities of the bases, including defensive infrastructure and logistics support required for sustained operations. The assessment is part of ongoing strategic adjustments aimed at improving the effectiveness of troops deployed to confront terrorists and criminal networks operating in parts of the state.

The GOC also interacted directly with troops, commending them for their resilience, dedication and sacrifices in the fight to restore peace and security. He charged the personnel to maintain an aggressive operational posture, remain vigilant and sustain the momentum of ongoing operations until terrorist and criminal threats are significantly degraded.


Major General Koughna reaffirmed the commitment of 8 Division and Operation FANSAN YAMMA to protecting lives and property across Zamfara State. He assured residents that the military would continue to intensify operations, dismantle terrorist enclaves and create a safer environment for communities across the state.
