DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar, mni has assumed office today Friday 7th March, 2025 to take charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
In a press statement signed by PPRO FCID, SP Funmi Eguaoje, the DIG arrived FCID complex Area 10, today 7th March, 2025 to take charge of the Department as contained in a signal dated 6th March, 2025 signed by the Force Secretary.
The DIG was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force as cadet ASP on 18/5/1992. He hails from Garko LGA of Kano State. He holds B.Sc Edu from Utman Danfodiyo University , Sokoto, Msc.Edu. in Psychology and PhD in Psychology from University of Abuja.
He rose through the rank on merit.
He has served accros the states in Nigeria in different capacity which includes FCT, where he served as SOJ, SOS, DPO and Commissioner of Police.
Aid-de-camp to Speaker of the House of Representatives.
He also served as a commanding officer mopol 15 Ilorin, Chief of Training at the Directorate of PeaceKeeping Operations FHQ Abuja. Commandant PMF Training College Ila- Orangun, Osun State
Director of Directorate of Peacekeeping Operation FHQ, Abuja.
Commissioner of Police FCT Abuja where he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to Police Academy, Wudil Kano as Commandant.
Beyound Nigeria, he served as Police Contingent Commander ECOWAS standby Force, Guinea Bissau.
DIG Sadiq Abubakar, mni has attended various developmental and Capacity Building courses both within and outside the country including the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
He is a recipient of Honour and Awards including IGP award of Excellence for role in the establishment of the NPF Training College, Ende- Hills, Nasarawa State.
He is a member of several International professional Bodies.
His posting to FCID will definitely enhance the capacity of the Department in Criminal Investigation. As he will bring his wealth of experience to bare.
His hobbies includes Expedition and Rock Climbing.
He is married with children.
