Nigerian Military Gains Pave Way for Mallam Fatori’s First Party Primary Election in 10 Years

For the first time in ten years, the people of Mallam Fatori in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State went to the polls today, October 26, 2025, to participate in a political party primary election — a milestone that speaks volumes about the return of peace and stability to the area.

Once a flashpoint of insurgent violence that forced thousands to flee across the border into Niger Republic, Mallam Fatori has gradually come back to life, thanks to the sustained efforts of the 68 Battalion Mallam FatoriJoint Taskforce North East Operation HADIN KAI.

Their tireless operations to clear remnants of terrorists, secure communities, and support the safe return of displaced persons have made this day possible.

SpyeTV News reports that the peaceful conduct of the councilorship primary election drew participation from both officials of the Borno State Government and enthusiastic indigenes who expressed joy at being able to exercise their civic rights again. Smiles, laughter, and a sense of renewed belonging filled the air as people lined up to cast their votes — a sight unseen in the town for over a decade.

Beyond the ballots, today’s event symbolizes the triumph of resilience and unity over fear and displacement. It reflects not only the government’s commitment to restoring governance at the grassroots level but also the enduring courage of the people of Abadam, who are determined to rebuild their lives on the foundations of peace secured by the Nigerian Armed Forces.

For Mallam Fatori, today’s election is more than a political exercise — it is a story of hope restored, lives reclaimed, and a community standing tall once again.
