PCRC National Chairman Commiserates With Oyo Police Over DCP Adejobi's Demise

The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Mogaji Ibrahim Aramide Olaniyan has commiserated with the Oyo State Commissioner of Police and the entire Police Force on the unfortunate demise of DCP Prince Akinade Alao Olusegun Adejobi describing his passing as a great loss to the policing and PCRC family.

Olaniyan said when he led memBers of the national exexutive of PCRC on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, *CP JOHNSON ADENOLA On 24th April 2025 in Ibadan.

The visit was marked by a cordial and constructive engagement aimed at strengthening the partnership between the Police and the community through the PCRC structure.

During the visit, the National Chairman expressed profound gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for his unwavering support to the PCRC over the years, especially during his tenure as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector General of Police, IGP KAYODE EGBETOKUN.

The Chairman commended the CP’s prompt and spontaneous responses to issues concerning the PCRC, noting that such responsiveness has significantly enhanced the impact of the organization at both the state and national levels.

In response, the Commissioner of Police appreciated the visit and led the National Chairman on an inspection tour of his ongoing office remodelling project.

He expressed gratitude to the National Chairman for his energetic and dynamic leadership, which has continued to inspire the growth and reformation of PCRC structures nationwide.

The CP further reiterated his deep commitment to community policing, recalling that his first point of assignment in the Force was as a Secretary of the PCRC — a role that ignited his enduring passion for police-community collaboration. 

He affirmed that he remains fully committed to supporting PCRC activities at the State, Zonal, and National levels, in alignment with the directives of the Inspector General of Police.

While inspecting the remodelling project, the National Chairman pledged financial support from the National level, Stateto and Zonal PCRC to complement the ongoing construction efforts. He also declared the intent to immortalize the late DCP Prince Akinade Alao Olusegun Adejobi through the project as a mark of honor and remembrance.

In a press statement e-signed by Arakunrin Badmus O. S said the visit concluded on a high note with both parties reaffirming their dedication to enhancing security through effective community-police partnership.

The National Chairman was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi, National Youth Treasurer who represented the National Youth Coordinator, Com. Rotimi Abatan, the Zone XI and Oyo State Chairmen, Otunba Femi Arowosola and Amb. Mrs Esther Adegbenjo respectively, the Youth Coordinator, Oyo State Command, Arakunrin Badmus Omoniyi and the State Executives of Oyo State Command PCRC.
