Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued four kidnapped victims during separate operations in Zamfara and Kebbi states as military forces intensify efforts to combat terrorism and kidnapping in the North-West.
The victims were rescued on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, following intelligence-led operations in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State and between Bena and Sawade in Kebbi State.
In Zamfara, troops responded to reports of a terrorist incident on a farmland across a river in Binoni Marafa, Maru Local Government Area, acting on credible intelligence.
The operation led to the rescue of two victims identified as Mansur Shehu, 25, and Kadijat Haruna, 49.
Similarly, troops conducted a search-and-rescue operation between Bena and Sawade in Kebbi State following reports of suspected terrorists moving with kidnapped victims from Dupindu Village, Kanya District, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.
The operation resulted in the rescue of two victims, Jimoh Su-Arege, 35, and Kalahe Danjuma, 41, who were subsequently handed over to the Seriki of Dipindu.
The military said troops had continued to intensify patrols and surveillance across affected areas to strengthen security, dominate operational locations and deny criminal elements freedom of action.
The operations underscore the ongoing efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to rescue kidnapped victims, disrupt terrorist activities and improve security across Zamfara and Kebbi states.
