Troops of Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted 10 brand new motorcycles allegedly being transported to a notorious terrorist leader in Kebbi State.
The operation, conducted on Monday, July 20, 2026, was part of ongoing counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations in the state.
Security sources disclosed that the troops intercepted a white commercial bus along the Biu–Kangiwa axis in Arewa Local Government Area, where they arrested two suspects identified as 35-year-old Salisu Mohammad and 36-year-old Bashir Musa.
The suspects were found transporting 10 brand new Honda motorcycles packaged in cartons inside the commercial bus.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcycles were allegedly destined for a suspected terrorist kingpin identified as Mallam Gehowa, who is believed to be operating around the Amogoro axis.
Acting on the intelligence gathered from the initial arrests, troops immediately launched a follow-up operation, leading to the arrest of four additional suspects who were reportedly sent by the terrorist group to receive the motorcycles.
Military authorities described the operation as successful, noting that it was executed without incident.
All six suspects, the recovered motorcycles, and the commercial bus used to transport the consignment have been handed over to the Kebbi State Command of the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation and necessary action.
