The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC), Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Olaniyan has presented a Cheque of Five Hundred thousand Naira (N500,000) to the family of Inspector Sunday Baba who was killed in an unclear circumstance at Rumulomeni in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area last month.
The presentation of this Cheque took place during the ongoing Capacity Security Building Programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
SpyeTV News gathered that, the National Chairman Alh ibrahim Magaji Ibrahim Olaniyan first presented a sum of N250,000 to the Wife of Late Inspector while one of the the Royal Fathers/ Patrons of Rivers State PCRC donated N250,000 to make a total sum of N500,000.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of PCRC said, this donation is another of showing to the family that we love them, they are not left alone and we will always support them. We want to honour them,we want to make sure the country know we appreciate them.
"Before today, we have sent our representative, the Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC) in Rivers State led by its Chairman,Voke Emore to visit the family of Inspector Sunday Baba who was killed in and today, we want to again present this token to the widow of the deceased unclear circumstance at Rumulomeni.
"We pray God will be with the family he left behind and we urge other well-meaning Nigerians to support them.
"Our heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time. Your loved one's service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Please accept my deepest condolences. Your family's loss is a tremendous sacrifice for our community's safety and well-being.""
He prays the memories of the Inspector's loved one's courage, dedication, and service bring them comfort and strength in the days ahead.
"Your family is not alone in this loss. We are all here to support you and honor the legacy of your loved one's service and sacrifice."
The Rivers State Police Officer Wives Association POWA and Wife of the Commissioner of Police in the state who was represented at the event received all the donations amounting N500,000 onwards transmission to late wife and family.
Appreciating the National PCRC management team for the kind gesture, the State Commissioner Of Police CP Tunji Disu was full of praises in General to PCRC for the wonderful things PCRC are doing for Communities and to the Nigeria Police.
